Welcome to my new blog! Some of you may be familiar with my writing from The Search for Piety and Obedience, a blog on Brethren in Christ Church history I maintained for almost five years. Others may have found this blog from my Twitter profile, my Messiah College bio page, or perhaps even from a Google search.
No matter how you arrived, I’m glad you’re here.
At this blog, I plan to discuss those subjects that animate my life and work: American history, Christianity, public history, commemoration, religion, the humanities, higher education, memory, pacifism. I’ll probably talk quite extensively about my ongoing research into the history of the Brethren in Christ Church, or my work on religious communities and public memory. I might also occasionally comment on stuff that occupies my time when I’m not working: TV shows, movies, pop culture, board games, LEGOs, travel, urban landscapes.
If that sounds interesting to you, I hope you’ll be a regular reader here at the blog. Stay tuned!
